FAQ

Do you take walk-ins?
Yes — walk-ins are welcome whenever an artist is free, but appointments get priority and guarantee your spot and artist. For anything custom or large, book ahead.
How much will my tattoo cost?
It depends on size, detail, placement, and the artist. We quote most pieces after a quick chat. There's a shop minimum for small work. We'll always give you a real number before we start — no surprises.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes, for booked appointments. The deposit holds your spot and comes off the final price. It's non-refundable if you no-show or cancel last-minute, so give us at least 48 hours if you need to reschedule.
How old do I have to be?
You must be 18+ with a valid government photo ID. No exceptions, even with a parent — it's state law.
Does it hurt?
Some. It depends on placement and your own tolerance — bony areas sting more than meaty ones. Most people find it very doable. Eat a real meal beforehand, stay hydrated, and tell your artist if you need a break.
Can you cover up or fix an old tattoo?
Often, yes — cover-ups and reworks are one of Doc's specialties. Bring it in (or send a clear photo) and we'll tell you honestly what's possible.
Do you do piercings too?
Yes — Jules, our resident piercer, does everything from simple lobes to curated ear projects, septums, and navels, all with implant-grade jewelry. Walk in or book with Jules.

Tattoo aftercare

A tattoo is an open wound for the first couple weeks — treat it like one and it'll heal bright and clean.

First few hours

Leave the wrap on as long as your artist says. When you take it off, wash gently with lukewarm water and fragrance-free soap, pat dry with a clean paper towel.

First 2 weeks

Wash 2–3× a day and apply a thin layer of fragrance-free lotion. Thin is key — it needs to breathe. Don't pick, scratch, or peel the flakes, even when it itches.

Until fully healed

No soaking: skip pools, hot tubs, baths, and the ocean for 2–3 weeks. Keep it out of direct sun, and once healed, always sunscreen it — sun is the #1 thing that fades a tattoo.

Piercing aftercare

Piercings heal differently — it's all about keeping it clean and leaving it alone. Healing times vary (a lobe is weeks; cartilage and navels can take months).

Clean it twice a day

Use sterile saline wound wash (not alcohol or peroxide — too harsh). Spray or soak, then gently pat dry with clean gauze. Never a cloth towel.

Hands off

Don't twist, spin, or play with the jewelry — that's the #1 cause of problems. Only touch it with clean hands when cleaning. Leave the original jewelry in until fully healed.

Protect it

No pools, hot tubs, or submerging it. Keep makeup, hair products, and sprays off it. Sleep on clean pillowcases, and avoid sleeping on a new ear piercing.
